- Outline of the Event: School of Law, Sandip University organised a One Day National Workshop on Mooting Skills and Etiquettes.
- Objective: To nurture the art of oral argumentation
- Outcome: A One Day National Workshop on Mooting Skills and Etiquettes dated 14th March, 2023 was organised by the School of Law Sandip University, Nashik, Maharashtra, India.
The distinguished speakers were invited from the respective domain of the law to conduct the session on mooting skills and etiquettes. At the very outset, Mr. Akash Gupta, LLM from Stockholm University, Sweden, and presently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Jingal Global Law, School, O.P. Jindal Global University was invited to speak on the art of nurturing the oral argumentation. Subsequently, Adv. Rahul Tiwari from Gurugram District Court was invited to discuss the practical aspects of the mooting skills and its relevance in the Criminal, Civil and Corporate Litigation. He comprehensively elaborated the difference between the Special Leave Petition, Writ Petition and Public Interest Litigation from the jurisdictional point of view.
Thereafter, Mr. Nehal Ahmad, LLM from National Law School, and currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Law, Sandip University, exhaustively dealt with the art of drafting and legal research pertaining to the moot proposition. He, furthermore, elaborated the art of well-structured, well-drafted and robust memorial making for a mooting competition. More than 75 participants registered for the workshop. The session witnessed the gracious presence of the Associate Dean, Dr. Bhavana Kadu, School of Law, Sandip University. Her overwhelming support and untiring effort was instrumental in making the session a huge success. The session was moderated by Mrs. Apurva Mahajan, Assistant Professor of Law along with the mutual coodination and assistance of her efficient team members: Mrs. Rakhee Poonawala, Mrs. Dhanya John, Dr. (Porf.) Govind Singh Rajpal, Mr. Shubham Thakuriya and Mr. Jay.
